Art – Art Minor
Art, Minor
Offered as a Secondary Discipline Minor
The Art Minor is designed for those students passionate about art and art history, but wish to apply their creative knowledge to another discipline, profession or industry. Our Art Minors experience many of the benefits of the BA/BS program but are required to fulfill fewer credit requirements. Students must complete at least 8 credits of upper-division coursework toward a minor while in residence at SOU.
Degree Fit
Program Preparation
The Art minor degree is a good fit for students who are majoring in another discipline and would like to compliment their professional skills with training in visual art.
Degree Roadmap
The Art minor is designed for students who have visual talents and interests, and are ready to be instructed in a formal Art School environment. While the Art minor degree programs do not involve as intense of a training as students obtaining a major, a minor degree in art from SOU will give you the tools needed to become adept in your creative pursuits.
Degree Integration
Many students are delighted to find that an Art minor complements their major. Whether a student is getting a degree in Business, Environmental Science, or Education, an Art minor degree can enhance a wide range of field-specific studies and make a graduate more agile and competitive on the job market.
