This micro-credential provides a close approximation of Hispanic and Latinx culture in the US. This series of courses examines the histories, cultures, and experiences of Latinx communities in the United States. Learners will develop their oral and written expression in Spanish while exploring the diversity and complexity of Latinx identities, as well as the social, political, and economic forces that have shaped them. They will also examine the cultural practices, artistic expressions, and political movements that have emerged from Latinx communities, and how these have challenged dominant narratives of race, ethnicity, and citizenship.
