This Micro-Credential will teach social and emotional intelligence and how these competencies can strengthen leadership skills, enhance personal and professional growth, and promote a deeper understanding of collaboration. It emphasizes knowledge of individual emotional intelligence, conflict styles, and group dynamics in order to be a better leader of teams and collaborator in groups. Once three of the courses are completed, you will earn a Team Leadership and Collaboration badge to post on your professional sites.

Required Courses

BA 492: Working with Emotional Intelligence – 4 credits
BA 489: Organizational Leadership – 4 credits
PSYCH 438: Group Dynamics – 4 credits
COMM 455: Conflict Management – 4 credits
(These are all offered in 5 week/one night a week format in Medford through the INL program and fully online in a 10 week format.)
Additional Requirements
Must earn a C- or better in each course. Some of these courses have projects and papers included in the coursework.
Learning Outcomes/Competencies
- Gain an operating understanding of organizational leadership and culture, including theories about individual and group behaviors, and emotional intelligence.
- Learn to assess self and other’s behaviors.
- Develop plans for improving team leadership in times of conflict and change.
- Improve communication skills for productive management of teams.
