Performance Concentration offers intensive, conservatory-style training to actors and performers working towards professional careers in the arts. Students accepted into the Performance Concentration will complete sequenced coursework in acting, movement, and voice and speech. A wide variety of elective courses are also available, allowing students to tailor their training to their own interests. Elective topics include Auditioning, Business of Acting, Shakespeare, Voiceover, Film Acting, Musical Theatre, Commedia dell\u2019arte, Masks, Accents and Dialects, Dance, and more. Admission to the Performance Concentration is by audition only, and limited to enrolled Theatre majors who have successfully completed Introduction to Acting and other foundational, first-year Theatre courses.<\/p>\n<h4>Degree Roadmap<\/h4>\n<p>Starting with the foundational sequential track of course work, a Theatre Major can choose to specialize in a certain area of emphasis after their sophomore year. Once accepted, BFA candidates will take additional classes in their area of emphasis as well as being held to rigorous academic standards in their course work. The BFA candidate will work more closely with a specific faculty mentor to gain hands-on experience in theatrical productions through professional guidance and instruction.<\/p>\n<h4>Capstone<\/h4>\n<p>The BFA degree requires the completion of a creative project that demonstrates proficiency in the candidate\u2019s field of emphasis. The BFA thesis is the culminating of the four-year undergraduate theatre training experience. Whether as part of a departmental production or a proposed independent project, the BFA candidate works in conjunction with a faculty mentor from proposal to completion of the thesis which will
