class=\"special-heading-border\"><div class=\"special-heading-inner-border\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-jrkvhdam-afd1f14a7f9975161058afa4dd474fa0 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>The SOU Biology Department is fortunate to be able to award several scholarships which are specifically for our Biology majors. Applications are typically due during February, with funding awarded for the following year. We encourage all Biology majors to apply for the scholarships for which they meet the criteria. If you have questions, please see your advisor or any Biology faculty member.<\/p>\n<p class=\"heavy-man dig-4\">In order to apply for these scholarships, Biology majors must:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"pop-4\">\n<li>Apply online through the SOU Online Scholarship Application Site<\/li>\n<li>Contact the Science Hall Office and pick up additional forms specific to each scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These forms consist of faculty recommendation forms, supplementary information, and\/or capstone proposals that you will need to pick up well in advance so that you can turn them in by the scholarship deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Selection for these three scholarships is made by the Biology Scholarship Committee.<\/p>\n<p>You may be eligible for additional scholarships as well, based on other criteria. This is typically your capstone research project, which you should discuss with your advisor, and which they will need to agree to and sign.
