program. Students develop a critical perspective that will serve them throughout their careers, factoring in innovative and inclusive perceptions on gender, sex, sexuality, race\/ethnicity, class, (dis)ability, and body size.<\/p>\n<p>GSWS integrates the fields of humanities, social sciences, and sciences while emphasizing the relationship of classroom learning with social and personal awareness, and community involvement. In addition to providing general education courses, we offer a GSWS minor, drawing on courses from departments and programs across the university including Art &amp; Art History, Communication, Economics, English, Human Services, History, Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology. Our program provides an excellent foundation for undergraduates with career aspirations in law, health, public administration, and social services. Students who wish to pursue doctoral work find that interdisciplinary training in GSWS equips them with theoretical and methodological strengths in most disciplines and applied research fields. Increasingly, specialists in Gender, Sexuality, and Women&#8217;s Studies are highly sought-after consultants in industry, higher education, insurance companies and personnel firms. State and federal government agencies often have a need for professionals with special training in the study of gender relations. This scholarship is awarded in March\/April for the following academic year.
